What we collect
- Account: the email address you sign in with, and any name you provide on the account page.
- Subscription: Stripe stores your payment details; we never see your card number. We store the Stripe customer and subscription identifiers so we know whether your account is active.
- Preferences: your chosen topics, time of day, language, voice speed, and reading/listening mode — used to generate your daily brief.
- Generated briefs: the list of articles in each of your briefs and an optional "why this matters to you" one-line note per article.
- Usage: per-IP request counts to enforce rate limits on the public summarization endpoint. We do not build a behavioural profile.
What we don't collect
No advertising identifiers. No third-party trackers. No reading-history graph beyond what's necessary to render the next brief. No call records or location data.
Why we use this data
- To deliver the service you've paid for — generating, narrating, and serving your daily brief.
- To accept and refund payments through Stripe.
- To send transactional emails (sign-in links, receipts, cancellation confirmations).
- To detect and stop abuse of public endpoints.
Who we share data with
Limited operational partners only:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- SMTP provider (Postmark / Resend) — transactional email delivery.
- Anthropic — to generate the personalised one-line notes on briefs, and the broadcast summaries served by the browser-extension API. Article text passes through Anthropic but is not retained by them for training (per their commercial agreement).
- Vercel + Cloudflare R2 — hosting and media storage.
Your choices

- Delete your account entirely by emailing hello@apprise.news. We remove your row and your generated briefs from our databases within 30 days; Stripe records are retained per their compliance obligations.
- Export your data on request to the same address.
